The brightest binoculars in the LT series

The Celestron StarSense Explorer LT 114AZ Combines a 114 mm Newton mirror with the smart StarSense Explorer app. The mirror captures more than 2.5 times as much light as the 70 mm refractor from the same series. This allows not only the Moon and planets but also bright deep-sky objects to come into view, such as the Orion Nebula and the Pleiades. Your smartphone guides the way via the StarSense dock, so you no longer need to search.

114 mm mirror in a compact tube

The reflector has a focal length of 1000 mm in a short tube of approximately 45 cm. A built-in corrector lens in the focuser makes this possible. The result is a telescope that remains light and portable, yet delivers the magnification of a long tube. With the 25 mm and 10 mm eyepieces, you can view at 40x and 100x; the 2x Barlow doubles that. It is realistically usable up to about 228x.

App navigation without engines or power

The StarSense Explorer app uses plate solving: the phone camera recognizes star patterns and determines where the telescope is pointed. Arrows on the screen guide you to the chosen object. No motors, batteries, or alignment procedure are needed. Set it up, place your phone in the dock, and observe.

The app as a personal guide

Each evening, the app displays a list of the best visible objects for your location, complete with explanations and images. This way, you learn the night sky as you observe it. The guidance works on most recent iOS and Android devices. One unlock code is included with the telescope.
