Omegon AC 70/400 Solar Backpack AZ: The sun telescope in a backpack

The Omegon AC 70/400 Solar BackPack AZ is built for one purpose: looking safely at the sun. The included CE-certified solar filter blocks 99.999 percent of sunlight, allowing you to track sunspots sharply and without any risk.

The complete set, telescope, tripod, eyepieces, and filter, fits in the included backpack. This way, you can be ready in minutes, even at a vacation spot or an open field.

Sunbathe safely: always filter first

The plug-in solar filter goes over the front of the tube, so sunlight is dimmed before it enters the optics. Always place the filter on before aiming and check it for damage before each use: never look at the sun through a telescope without an undamaged filter, as this will cause permanent eye damage within a second.

Without a filter, this is simply a wide-field telescope for evening use: with a 70 mm aperture and a 400 mm brand focal length (f/5.7), you can see the Moon, star fields, and open star clusters in a wide field of view.

Two eyepieces: 20x and 40x

With the 20 mm eyepiece you view at 20x and the entire solar disk easily fits in the field of view. The 10 mm eyepiece brings you to 40x for detail in sunspot groups. The 5x24 finder helps with aiming; never use the finder with the sun, but aim via the shadow of the tube.

Not suitable for: those who primarily want to view planets at high magnification at night; for that, a longer brand focal length, such as the AC 70/700, is more suitable.
