A Newtonian reflector works with mirrors instead of lenses: large aperture for little money and a color-aberration-free image. Occasional collimation (aligning mirrors) is part of it; that can be done in a few minutes.

Three eyepieces, Barlow, and erect image prism

With the H 20 mm and H 12.5 mm eyepieces, you observe at 35x and 56x: the working range for the Moon, planets, and overview. The 2x Barlow doubles this to 70x and 112x. The SR 4 mm eyepiece promises 175x on paper, but practically, the limit for this aperture is around 150x; save that eyepiece for very steady nights.

The 1.5x erecting lens displays the image right-side up for daytime nature observation and the 5x24 finder helps with aiming.

AZ-1: Aligning without technique

Up, down, left, right: the azimuthal mount moves exactly as you intuitively aim. No alignment, no counterweights. This makes it a great first telescope for children and their parents.
