Telescoop.nl is a specialized Dutch online store for astronomy, run by amateur astronomers. We don’t just sell telescopes—we use them ourselves to gaze at the starry sky.

Whether you're looking through a telescope for the first time and discovering the craters on the Moon, or you've been into deep-sky astrophotography for years: we'll help you move forward. Our goal is to make stargazing simple and accessible for everyone. With us, you won't find sales pitches, but personal advice, honestly selected telescopes and accessories, and access to a growing group of enthusiasts who share their experiences. Because we believe that everyone, young or old, should have the opportunity to experience the beauty of the universe for themselves.

The Story Behind Telescoop.nl

Telescoop.nl was born out of a deep fascination with the incredible grandeur of the universe. Our galaxy alone contains billions of stars, and each star has, on average, at least one planet. When you realize that there are also billions of other galaxies out there, you can’t help but look up at the night sky with awe.

Anyone who has looked at the rings of Saturn once through a telescope will never forget that moment. Not only because it is beautiful, but because it makes the infinite possibilities of the universe tangible.

Yet, many people struggle with the same curiosity to truly get started. Astronomy was long complicated: large, heavy telescopes, complex manuals, and technical barriers made stargazing time-consuming and sometimes frustrating. Many beginners gave up even before they could experience the true magic.

That had to change. That’s why we—Sina and Wouter—are building Telescoop.nl: a place where people of all ages can discover the wonders of the universe without any technical barriers. Thanks to innovative smart telescopes, accessible guidance, and our own passion for astronomy, stargazing is now easier and more fun than ever. Whether you dream of capturing images of the Moon, marveling at the planets, or exploring distant nebulae and galaxies, we’ll guide you on your journey through the cosmos.
