Sky-Watcher Heritage-150P Virtuoso GTi: 6 inch with WiFi GoTo
The Sky-Watcher Heritage-150P Virtuoso GTi combines the 150 mm parabolic mirror and the collapsible FlexTube design of the regular Heritage-150P with a computer-controlled mount. Via WiFi and the free SynScan app you can choose from over 10,000 objects; the telescope automatically moves to them and keeps tracking. It is the most accessible GoTo Dobson in our Dobson assortment and the solution to the most common beginner frustration: not being able to find objects.

What do you see through the Heritage 150P GTi?
Optically, this is the same 6-inch as the manual 150P: sharp craters on the Moon, Jupiter's cloud bands, Saturn's rings, and, under a dark sky, globular clusters that resolve into loose stars. The difference lies in what you get each night: because the mount finds objects for you and continues to track them, you'll see more objects in an hour than you would manually in an entire evening. It's also great at higher magnifications: the object no longer drifts out of view.
Freedom Find: Computer Help Without Pressure
The patented Freedom Find dual-encoder system lets you simply move the tube by hand without losing alignment. It can quickly swing to the moon by hand and then automatically track again; they can be mixed. The mount operates on an external 12V power supply or batteries, and the SynScan app does not require an internet connection: the mount creates its own WiFi network.
This is how to get the most out of this telescope
- Provide power. A power bank or power tank prevents dead batteries halfway through the evening; cold nights drain battery capacity.
- Place it on a sturdy, level surface. GoTo accuracy starts with a stable base.
- Shield the open FlexTube tube with a light shroud against stray light; the most common upgrade in this series.
- Check collimation after transport (f/5). Our guide to collimation makes it a two-minute routine.
- For planet detail: a 6 mm planetary eyepiece gives 125x, and thanks to the automatic tracking, the object remains steady in view at that magnification.
For whom yes and for whom no
Hello beginners who want to skip the frustration of searching, families (kids choose an object in the app, and the telescope does the rest), and observers who want to see the most on short evenings. Telescope Buying Guide for Beginners help with the decision between manual and GoTo.
Not Whoever prefers to invest the entire budget in optics will get at Manual Heritage-150P FlexTube same mirror for less money. Long exposures of deep-sky remain the domain of smart telescopes; Quick moon photos with a smartphone adapter work especially well on this next system.
