Omegon ProNewton N 203/1000 OTA: the 8-inch all-rounder for your mount

The Omegon ProNewton N 203/1000 Mount the most popular amateur size, 8 inches, as an optical tube assembly on your mount: 203 mm BK7 mirror with 94 percent reflectivity, metal tube, and 2-inch Crayford focuser. Details on planets that smaller tubes miss and enough light to seriously explore galaxies and nebulae.

The thin spider vanes of the secondary mirror holder keep diffraction low: stars remain sharp and contrast high.

The 2-inch Crayford focuser of the ProNewton 203/1000

8 inch at f/4.9: the golden mean

With a 1,000 mm brand focal length, this telescope combines a usable wide field of view with genuine magnification reserve; the practical maximum is around 400x. The 2-inch Crayford mount accommodates wide-angle eyepieces and cameras; the 1.25/2-inch adapter and red-dot finder are included.

On an EQ5-class mount, this is a complete visual and photographic setup for years to come.

Featured accessories

The Omegon laser collimator (44.90 euros) keeps the mirrors aligned; with every Newtonian, one belongs in the drawer. An Omegon 13 percent moon filter (27.90 euros) is practically mandatory for an 8-inch. The Omegon Pro UHC 2-inch filter (89 euros) brings out nebulae and the Omegon Cronus 7 mm eyepiece (79 euros) provides 143x magnification for planets.

For whom yes, for whom no

Pros: advanced observers with a sturdy mount who want the classic 8-inch Newtonian as an optical tube. Cons: those who do not have a mount and observe visually; the Advanced X 203 Dobson offers the same aperture class complete for the same money. Compare on the Dobson page.
