Omegon Pro RC 304/2432 Lightweight Truss OTA: 12 inch truss-RC with honeycomb mirror

The Omegon Pro RC 304/2432 Lightweight Truss is the weight-optimized 12-inch Ritchey-Chrétien: a honeycomb quartz glass primary mirror that heats up faster and puts less strain on your mount, in an open carbon truss construction. Coma-free, corrector-free, and ready for large format sensors.

A Ritchey-Chrétien uses two hyperbolic mirrors: the design of virtually every professional observatory. The result is a large, coma-free field of view without a corrector: stars remain round all the way to the edges of the sensor.

The open carbon truss construction is the recipe of professional observatories: rigid, light, and thermally stable, with natural ventilation that prevents its own microclimate inside the tube. The built-in 12V fan cools the primary mirror up to twice as fast, so you're working at full sharpness sooner.

Honeycomb: less mass, same precision

The honeycomb primary mirror retains the full optical quality of quartz, but with considerably less glass mass, allowing for faster thermal equilibrium and fewer demands on your mount. The ball-bearing 3-inch monorail focuser illuminates large format image fields without vignetting.

Three extension tubes set the backfocus for any camera configuration and the Losmandy dovetail couples to observatory mounts.
