Omegon Pro RC 250/2000 OTA: the largest RC with full tube

The Omegon Pro RC 250/2000 is the largest closed-tube RC in the range: 250 mm hyperbolic quartz optics (f/8) in carbon, with a 3-inch rotatable focus and tilt adapter. Two-meter focal length and ten-inch aperture: the image scale and light for galaxies and planetary nebulae at observatory level.

A Ritchey-Chrétien uses two hyperbolic mirrors: the design of virtually every professional observatory. The result is a large, coma-free field of view without a corrector: stars remain round all the way to the edges of the sensor.

3 inch focus lens: wide field of view, precise framing

The 3-inch focus ring also illuminates large sensors without vignetting and rotates for the correct image cut without having to disassemble the camera train. The tilt adapter aligns the sensor exactly at right angles, and the quartz mirrors keep the focal point stable in the face of temperature fluctuations.

The internal baffles keep the contrast high; the Losmandy eagle-tail sounds like a heavy piece of equipment in the EQ8 class.
