Omegon Advanced 130/650 EQ-320: parabolic optics on the EQ-320

The Omegon Advanced 130/650 EQ-320 it's the neat middle ground between entry-level and specialist: a 130 mm parabolic mirror (over 30 percent more light than a 114 mm) on the EQ-320 mount with fine adjustment on both axes. The f/5 optics provide a wide, bright image for the Moon, planets, and bright deep-sky objects.

A Newtonian reflector works with mirrors instead of lenses: large aperture for little money and a color-aberration-free image. Occasional collimation (aligning mirrors) is part of it; that can be done in a few minutes.

Parabolic where it counts

The parabolic primary mirror delivers sharp, color-pure stars all the way to the edge: exactly what a fast f/5 optic needs. With the 25mm and 10mm eyepieces, you get 26x and 65x magnification; the practical maximum is around 260x, so with additional eyepieces, this telescope will grow with you for a long time.

The EQ-320 mount with fine-adjustment tracking is smooth and quiet—definitely more robust than the entry-level EQ-1 and EQ-2 models.
