The Askar FMA180 Pro 40/180 Apochromatic Refractor OTA is a compact astrograph designed specifically for wide-field astrophotography. Thanks to its fast focal ratio of f/4.5 and integrated corrector, it delivers a flat field of view of 44 mm - suitable for full-frame cameras.
The lens consists of three elements, two of which are made of ED glass, separated by an air gap. This keeps stars colorfast and sharp all the way to the image edge. The internal helical focuser ensures stable focusing, and the 360° rotator makes it easy to rotate your composition without having to realign your setup.
At only 0.8 kg in weight and 167 mm in length, the FMA180 Pro is highly portable, ideal for mobile setups. You connect it directly to DSLRs or astro cameras via the M48 connector with 55 mm back focus. The standard Vixen swallowtail and built-in viewfinder shoe make mounting easy and flexible.
Observation goals
The Askar FMA180 Pro is optimized for wide-field astrophotography of nebulae, star fields and galaxy regions. Thanks to the flat image field correction and fast optics, you'll make short exposures with sharp results across the entire image. For moon and planets the image is limited by the short focal length, but for extended deep-sky objects this instrument is ideal.
