The classic: TV-85 as a versatile main telescope

The TeleVue TV-85 is one of the most beloved compact apochromats ever built. With an 85mm aperture and 600mm focal length (f/7.1), it combines top performance with a light, compact design: the versatile main telescope for the advanced observer who wants to combine mobility and optical perfection. This classic is available in two factory versions; this is the version with article number 61108.

Sharpness across the entire width

The multi-coated apochromatic doublet delivers a high-contrast, virtually chromatic aberration-free image. Structures along the lunar terminator remain sharp at high magnification, double stars are tightly separated, and under a dark sky, the 85mm surprisingly reveals a lot of bright nebulae and galaxies. Photographically, the tube works excellently with TeleVue correctors. A practical limit for magnification is around 170x. You choose the eyepiece and diagonal yourself.
