Sky-Watcher EQ8-RH Pro SynScan GoTo: Tracking with encoder precision

The EQ8-RH Pro is the most advanced mount in the EQ8 series. The difference from the EQ8-R is the Renishaw higher-resolution encoder on the right ascension axis: it continuously measures the actual axis position and directly corrects the drive. The result is tracking that is so accurate that autoguiding is often no longer necessary for astrophotography, even with long exposures.

Furthermore, the head shares all the improvements of the EQ8-R: internal wiring against cable breakage, four USB and three 12V connections on the head, belt drive on the declination axis, and reinforced couplings. The load capacity of 50 kg is calculated for tubes of 12 to 14 inches. This article only concerns the mount head.
