Vaonis Vespera CLS Filter: deep-sky astrophotography from the city

The Vaonis CLS (City Light Suppression) filter removes skyglow from your Vespera images. Street lighting based on sodium and mercury lamps emits at specific wavelengths; this filter blocks precisely those bands while letting the light from nebulae and galaxies pass through.

The result: darker backgrounds, less color cast, and more contrast on deep-sky objects, right from the city or a suburb.

Automatically recognized

Thanks to the integrated chip, the Vespera recognizes the filter as soon as you click it onto the station. The Singularity app automatically adjusts the image processing; you don't need to configure anything.

When do you choose CLS

The CLS filter is a broadband filter: it works on virtually all object types, including galaxies and star clusters. If you mainly photograph emission nebulae, the narrowband dual-band filter extracts even more contrast from them.
