Omegon Pro RC 355/2845 – Ritchey-Chretien Truss OTA: 14 inch for serious star gazing

The Omegon Pro RC 355/2845 Truss is the standard version of the 14-inch Ritchey-Chrétien: hyperbolic quartz mirrors with honeycomb structure in an open carbon truss construction, with powerful fans and a 3-inch monorail focuser. Extremely sharp across a wide field of view, up to the edge of your sensor.

A Ritchey-Chrétien uses two hyperbolic mirrors: the design of virtually every professional observatory. The result is a large, coma-free field of view without a corrector: stars remain round all the way to the edges of the sensor.

The open carbon truss construction is the recipe of professional observatories: rigid, light, and thermally stable, with natural ventilation that prevents its own microclimate inside the tube. The built-in 12V fan cools the primary mirror up to twice as fast, so you're working at full sharpness sooner.

Sharpness that remains

The quartz mirrors keep the focus stable, even in long exposures and falling temperatures: hardly any adjustment required, more usable data. The ball-bearing 3 inch monorail focuser lights up large-format image fields without vignetting.

Extension arms adjust the backfocus to any camera configuration; the Losmandy falcon-tail attaches to observatory mounts.
