Sky-Watcher EQ8-RH Pro with pier tripod: getting the most out of the EQ8 series

This set combines the top model of the EQ8 series with the matching heavy-duty pier tripod. The EQ8-RH Pro carries up to 50 kg and stands out with the Renishaw high-resolution encoder on the RA axis: it continuously measures the axis position and directly corrects the drive. As a result, autoguiding is often no longer necessary in astrophotography, even during long exposures.

In addition, the head features all the improvements of the EQ8-R: internal cabling, four USB and three 12V ports, belt drive in the declination axis, and reinforced clutches. The 29.4 kg steel pier tripod keeps the space around the mount clear, allowing long optical tubes to rotate unhindered. With a total set weight of nearly 78 kg, this is a setup you put in place to leave standing.
