The Celestron RASA 8 Advanced VX is a pure astrograph: built for photography, not for viewing. The 203mm Rowe-Ackermann Schmidt Astrograph operates at f/2.0 with a focal length of 400mm. That means extremely short exposures: in 30 to 60 seconds, you can capture nebulae and star fields that classic systems take minutes for.

Camera in front, no eyepiece

Bij een RASA zit de camera in het brandpunt vóór op de buis; een oculair past er bewust niet op. Het ontwerp is geoptimaliseerd voor astrocamera’s met kleine tot middelgrote sensoren en levert over het hele veld puntvormige sterren. Wie visueel wil kijken én fotograferen, kiest een EdgeHD; wie maximaal fotografisch resultaat per minuut wil, kiest de RASA.

The Advanced VX: Built for Photography

The Advanced VX is a German equatorial GoTo mount with a 13.6 kg payload capacity, NexStar+ hand controller with over 40,000 objects, All-Star Polar Alignment for polar alignment without visibility of Polaris, periodic error correction (PPEC), and an autoguider port. The mount operates on 12V; a powertank is the logical addition. Thanks to f/2.0, the demands on tracking accuracy remain mild: short subs tolerate small deviations.
