De f/2-astrograaf met marge voor de langste nachten
The Celestron RASA 8 CGEM II zet de extreem lichtsterke Rowe-Ackermann Schmidt Astrograph op het zware CGEM II-platform. De 203 mm optiek werkt op f/2,0 met 400 mm brandpuntsafstand: in tientallen seconden leg je nevels en sterrenvelden vast waar klassieke systemen minuten voor nodig hebben. Dit is een pure astrograaf, gebouwd om te fotograferen, niet om door te kijken.
Camera in front, no eyepiece
Bij een RASA zit de camera in het brandpunt vóór op de buis; een oculair past er bewust niet op. Het veld is over de volle sensorbreedte gecorrigeerd: puntvormige sterren tot in de hoeken. De korte belichtingen stellen milde eisen aan de volgnauwkeurigheid, en op de CGEM II met 18 kg draagvermogen blijft ruimte over voor camera, filterwiel en dauwbestrijding.
The CGEM II Mount: Room for Serious Photography
De CGEM II is de zwaardere Duitse equatoriale GoTo van Celestron: 18 kg draagvermogen, NexStar+ handcontroller met ruim 40.000 objecten, All-Star Polar Alignment, permanent programmeerbare periodieke foutcorrectie (PPEC) en een autoguider-poort. De montering werkt op 12V; een powertank is de logische aanvulling.
For whom yes, for whom no
Wel: de toegewijde deep-sky fotograaf die maximaal resultaat per klok-uur wil, met een opstelling die nachtenlang onbewaakt doorwerkt. Niet: wie ook visueel wil kijken; kies dan een EdgeHD op dezelfde montering.
