Planetary contrast as a loose tube, including solar filter!

The Bresser Messier 150/1200 Hexafoc OTA puts the long f/8 focal length on your own mount. High contrast on the Moon, planets, and double stars, and with the included objective solar filter also safe solar observation. Via the Vixen-style dovetail, the tube clicks onto any mount with a standard Vixen clamp.

Bresser N 150/1200 solar filter for safe observation of the sun

Parabolic f/8 optics

The 150 mm parabolic mirror collects about 459 times more light than the naked eye. With a 1200 mm focal length (f/8) you get a calm, high-contrast image at high magnification; consider approximately 300x as the maximum. With the 26 mm eyepiece you view at 46x. Only use the solar filter if it is undamaged and never look at the sun without certified protection.

Which mount fits this?

The long tube gives wind more leverage, so stability pays off. The Bresser EXOS-2/EQ-5 mount on tripod (539 euros) is the logical basis; the Bresser EXOS-2 EQ GoTo mount (998 euros) adds automatic locating and tracking. For purely visual use in a sheltered spot, the Bresser EXOS-1/EQ-4 mount with tripod (379 euros) suffices.

Included

  • Newtonian optics 150/1200 with parabolic primary mirror
  • 2.5 inch Hexafoc focuser with 1.25 and 2 inch adapters
  • SP 26mm eyepiece (1.25 inch)
  • 6×30 viewfinder

Featured accessories

The Bresser Plössl 10 mm eyepiece (120x, 29 euros) is the core magnification. A Bresser laser collimator (74.90 euros) and the Bresser 1:8 microfocuser (99 euros) complete the planetary station. An Omegon Premium 2-inch moon filter (34.90 euros) dims the moonlight.

For whom yes, for whom no

For: planetary observers with their own mount who choose contrast over field of view. Not: deep-sky photographers; the 150/750 or 203/800 OTA is a better fit for them. Compare on the reflector page. Meer Bresser is on the merk page.
