Five inch lens power with long focal length!

The Bresser AC 127L/1200 Messier OTA is the big classic: a five-inch lens opening with a long focal length for quiet, contrast-rich detail of the Moon, planets, and double stars. The included solar filters also make safe solar viewing possible, and the T2 adapter opens the door to lunar photography.

Large long achromatic

The 127 mm lens captures about 329 times more light than the naked eye. With the 26 mm eyepiece, you can see at 46x; keep it at around 254x as a maximum. At f/9.4, the color aberration remains modest, even on the clear lunar edge. Use the solar filters only if they are undamaged and never look at the sun without certified protection.

Which mount fits this?

A 1.2-meter tube with a five-inch lens requires serious stability: the Bresser EXOS-2/EQ-5 tripod mount (539 euros) is the minimum, the Bresser EXOS-2 EQ GoTo mount (998 euros) is the comfortable choice. The Vixen-Style Swivel Mount fits on any mount with a standard Vixen clamp.
