Four-lens design: fast and color-accurate!
The Bresser AC 127/635 AR-127S is unique in its class: a four-lens achromat. As a result, chromatic aberration remains small despite the fast f/5 design, and the photographic correction is better than that of two-lens refractors. Five-inch aperture, wide fields, and a short, manageable tube.

Four-lens fast achromat
The 127 mm lens captures about 329 times more light than the naked eye. With the 26 mm eyepiece, you view at 24x with a wide field of view: open star clusters, the Andromeda Galaxy, and large gas nebulae are this tube's domain, with nebula filters as a powerful supplement. Keep about 254x as the theoretical maximum; the focus lies on low and medium magnification.
Which mount fits this?
Short but solidly built: the Bresser EXOS-2/EQ-5 mount on tripod (539 euros) is the logical basis, the Bresser EXOS-2 EQ GoTo mount (998 euros) the choice for photography with automatic tracking. Via the Vixen-style dovetail, the tube fits on any mount with a standard Vixen clamp.

Featured accessories
The Bresser Plössl 10 mm eyepiece (64x, 29 euros) zooms in on star clusters. An Omegon Premium 2-inch moon filter (34.90 euros) reduces the moonlight. A nebula filter gets the most out of gas nebulae; ask us for advice on your choice.
For whom yes, for whom no
Pros: wide-field observers and astrophotographers seeking color purity in a fast design. Cons: those who primarily want maximum planetary magnification; the 127L/1200 is a better fit in that case. Compare at the refractor page. Meer Bresser is on the brand page.
