Omegon ProNewton N 254/1250 OTA 254mm Newtonian: 10-inch with fan and fine focus

The Omegon ProNewton N 254/1250 is the largest ProNewton tube: 254 mm BK7 mirror with 94 percent reflection, a primary mirror fan with battery compartment and a 2-inch Crayford focuser with 1:10 reduction. Ten inches of aperture means globular clusters break down into stars and galaxies show structure.

The thin spider vanes of the secondary mirror holder keep diffraction low: stars remain sharp and contrast high.

Ventilator 1:10: the details that matter

The built-in cooling fan quickly brings the large mirror to ambient temperature, so the image is sharp sooner. The 1:10 dual-speed focuser makes precise focusing routine, including for astrophotography. The 8×50 optical finder, extension tube, and 1.25/2-inch adapter are included.

Count on a sturdy mount in the EQ6 class; this tube rewards stability with higher class images.

Included

  • Newtonian optics 254/1250 with BK7 mirror (94 percent reflectivity)
  • Main mirror fan with battery compartment
  • 2 inch Crayford focuser with 1:10 reduction and 1.25/2 inch adapter
  • 8×50 viewfinder
  • Scope rings with dovetail mount
  • Verlenhuls

Featured accessories

The Omegon laser collimator (€44.90) keeps the mirrors aligned; every Newtonian telescope should have one in its drawer. An Omegon 13% 2-inch moon filter (€34.90) dims the very bright Moon. The Omegon Pro UHC 2-inch filter (€89) brings out nebulae, and the Omegon UWA 9mm eyepiece (€59) provides a 139x magnification with a wide-angle view.

For whom yes, for whom no

Suitable for: advanced observers and photographers with heavy mounts who want 10-inch performance in a trackable setup. Not suitable for: visual observers without a heavy mount; the ProDob 254 has the same aperture class as complete Dobsonians. Compare on the Dobson page. Are you hesitating between the models? The Choice assistant helpt. More Omegon is on the brand page.
