Askar AP 40/180 FMA180 OTA is an apochromatic refractor specifically designed for widefield astrophotography and versatile use. With a 40 mm aperture and 180 mm focal length, this compact telescope operates at a fast f/4.5 ratio. Thanks to its integrated corrector, the FMA180 delivers sharp, color-neutral star images all the way to the edge, ideal for modern high-resolution astro cameras.
The optics feature internal blackening and high-quality multicoating, preventing reflections and creating high-contrast images - even in challenging lighting conditions. Thanks to the front filter thread, you can easily use 1.25″ filters. With a back focus of 55mm via the T2 thread, you can connect almost all common cameras directly.
In addition to photography, the FMA180 is versatile. You can use it as a guidescope in a larger astrophotography setup, or with a 1.25″ prism and eyepieces for wide-field observations. It is also suitable as a spotting scope for nature observation: using the included adapter, you can easily mount it on a standard photography tripod.
