The eight-inch step in the Skyline family

The Levenhuk New Skyline PLUS 8 inch Place the proven eight-inch formula in the Skyline line: 204 mm parabolic mirror, 1200 mm focal length, and 849 times more light than the naked eye. Fine lunar craters, the rings of Saturn, the cloud bands of Jupiter, and a very wide selection of deep-sky objects come within reach.

The well-known sweet spot

Eight inches has been the standard starting advice for decades for anyone looking to get serious: plenty of aperture, still manageable to lift, easy to operate. The 25 mm and 10 mm Plössl eyepieces deliver 48x and 120x; a realistic usable magnification is up to about 408x, of which the Dutch sky usually permits around 300x.

For whom yes, for whom no

For: the ambitious beginner or career-climber looking for a classic eight-inch telescope in a neat family edition. Not for: those who want focus luxury and cooling as standard; the Levenhuk Ra 200N has those on board.
