The Levenhuk New Skyline PRO 10 inch combineert 254 mm parabolische opening met 1270 mm brandpuntsafstand: 1317 keer meer licht dan het blote oog. Vrijwel elk Messier-object toont detail, bolhopen lossen op en op de planeten verschijnt structuur die kleinere kijkers overslaan. De hoofdspiegelkoeling en de 8x40 optische zoeker horen bij de PRO-uitrusting.

PRO-uitrusting standaard

De koelventilator brengt de grote spiegel snel op temperatuur, de 8x40 zoeker toont ook zwakkere richtsterren. De Plössl-oculairs van 25 mm en 10 mm leveren 51x en 127x; op papier is tot ongeveer 508x zinvol, de Nederlandse lucht laat meestal zo'n 300x toe. Voor deep-sky telt vooral de lichtwinst, en die is fors.

Wel: de gevorderde waarnemer of ambitieuze starter die in één keer goed koopt en de volle buis kan opslaan en tillen. Niet: wie krap in transportruimte zit; kies dan de Retractable-uitvoering met inklapbare truss.
