ZWO Duo-Band Filter 2 inch: Deep-sky photography in urban areas
Do you use a color camera and want to capture emission nebulae without switching to a monochrome camera with a filter wheel? This 2-inch dual-band filter combines the H-alpha and OIII emission lines into a single filter. It blocks all other light, including street lighting and moonlight, allowing nebulae to be imaged with significantly higher contrast, even under moderate skies.
The filter is tailored for ZWO ASI color cameras such as the ASI294MC Pro and ASI2600MC Pro. Owners of the ZWO Seestar S50 can also use this filter: with the Omegon Dust and Dew Shield plus the Omegon M62 to M48 adapter, you can mount this 2-inch filter in front of the lens of your smart telescope.
What you photograph with it
- Emission nebulae such as the Rosette Nebula, North America Nebula, and Veil Nebula
- Planetary nebulae like the Helix Nebula
- Supernova remnants like IC 443
- Deep-sky objects under moderate to severe light pollution
Compatibility
Fits in all 2-inch filter holders, filter drawers, and filter wheels (M48 thread). Suitable for ZWO color cameras (MC series) and for the Seestar S50 with the mentioned adapter set. Primarily intended for astrophotography.
