TeleVue 3 inch: Tube ring: clamshell tube ring for 3 inch tubes

This clamshell tube ring fits tubes with a diameter of 76 mm, making it the mounting bracket for the TeleVue TV-76 and TV-85 on a mount.

The felt-lined ring clamps the tube without touching the finish and allows it to slide for balance.

Why a clamshell

A clamshell ring encloses the tube over its full circumference with a felt lining: the clamping force is distributed, the paint remains undamaged, and the tube can slide in the ring to adjust the balance.

The quick-release makes it possible to open the ring without tools, so that the tube detaches from the mount in seconds for transport.
