An old ocular or a small viewfinder that fills up in the middle of the evening makes further viewing difficult. This dewband for a 24.5 mm ocular or a 30 mm viewfinder emits a bit of heat, just enough to keep the glass above the dew point. This keeps your ocular or viewfinder usable even when the grass is already wet.
You mainly encounter eyepieces with a 24.5 mm barrel on older and simpler telescopes. Small 30 mm telescopes are found on many entry-level telescopes; other telescopes can be found at Seekers and red dot finders.
The band works together with a dew regulator and a power supply, for example the two-channel controller from Astrozap. Place the band as close as possible to the lens that needs to stay warm and check that the plug fits your controller.
If you also use 1.25 inch eyepieces or a 50 mm viewfinder, then there is the band for 1.25 inch eyepieces.
