Rain bands that are turned on at full power make your optics warmer than necessary and unnecessarily consume a lot of power. With this rain heating controller from Astrozap, you can control how much heat your heating bands or heated rain hoods emit. You can set each of the two channels separately.
For example, you can adjust the band on your telescope so that it is slightly higher than the dewband around your 2 inch eyepiece. For the power supply, you need a suitable power supply, such as a portable power tank of 7Ah.
Too much heat creates air turbulence just before the lens or mirror, too little allows dew to form anyway. Start low and turn on only if dew still appears. Check beforehand whether the connections match your heating elements and your power supply.
Combine the tires with a dew cap for your telescope, Then the regulator doesn’t have to work as hard.
