Omegon Dust cap for 203 mm OTA (Optical Tube)

Omegon Dust Cap for 203 mm OTA (Optical Tube Assembly): closes the opening when the tube is not in use

In a reflecting telescope, the primary mirror is at the bottom of the tube, with the opening as the only way out. Anything that enters through that opening will eventually hit the mirror. Dust can be blown away, but cleaning a mirror is work you'd rather not do, and it doesn't do the coating any favors.

This cover seals the opening once you are finished observing. This keeps the inside of the tube clean and you need to touch the optics much less often.

Features

• Fits the opening of 8 inch pipes (203 mm)
• Plastic version
• Grip ribs on the side for hold with gloves
• Slides over the tube and sits firmly in place
• Suitable for storage and transport

Compatibility

Suitable for 8-inch tubes from brands including Omegon, Sky-Watcher, and Vixen, such as the Omegon Advanced X N 203/1200. If in doubt, measure the outer diameter of your tube, as it differs from the aperture of the mirror: an 8-inch Newtonian typically has an outer diameter of around 235 mm.
