Omegon ProNewton N 153/750 OTA: the versatile entry-level model in the ProNewton line

The Omegon ProNewton N 153/750 The ProNewton is the smallest of the ProNewton tubes: a 153 mm BK7 glass mirror with 94 percent reflectivity coating in a metal tube with a 2-inch Crayford focus. Sharp enough for planets, bright enough for deep-sky, and with the tube rings and Vixen eagle-tail ready for any mounting.

The thin spider vanes of the secondary mirror holder keep diffraction low: stars remain sharp and contrast high.

The 2 inch Crayford-focuser of the ProNewton 153/750

Visually and photographically usable

The 2-inch Crayford focus lens takes heavy wide-angle eyepieces and cameras without slipping; the 1.25/2-inch adapter is included. The red dot viewfinder makes focusing easy.

At f/4.9, this is a versatile lens: wide field for deep sky with a 2-inch eyepiece, planet detail with a short eyepiece, and first deep sky photos on an equatorial mount.

Included

  • Newton optics 153/750 with BK7 mirror (94 percent reflectivity)
  • Metal tube
  • 2-inch Crayford focuser with 1.25/2-inch adapter
  • Red dot sight
  • Tube rings with Vixen-style dovetails

Featured accessories

The Omegon laser collimator (44.90 euros) keeps the mirrors aligned; with every Newton comes one in the box. An Omegon moon filter 13 percent (27.90 euros) softens the bright Moon, the Omegon Pro UHC 2 inch filter (89 euros) brings out the clouds, and the Omegon UWA 20 mm eyepiece (59 euros) gives 38x wide-angle view.

For whom yes, for whom no

Well: advanced observers looking for a solid, versatile Newton tube for an existing setup. Not: those who primarily shoot at f/4; the Pro Astrograph 154/600 Carbon is built for that. Confused about the models? The Choice assistant helpt. More Omegon is on the brand page.
