Omegon Pro RC 203/1624 OTA Ritchey-Chretien: the most popular RC size, sharply priced

The Omegon Pro RC 203/1624 In a classic design, the most popular RC size under one thousand euros features 8-inch hyperbolic quartz mirrors (f/8) in a steel tube assembly with a 2-inch Crayford focuser. The coma-free field is immediately camera-ready; a corrector is not needed.

A Ritchey-Chrétien uses two hyperbolic mirrors: the design of virtually every professional observatory. The result is a large, coma-free field of view without a corrector: stars remain round all the way to the edges of the sensor.

Quartz mirrors: focus that endures

Quartz hardly expands at all when temperatures fluctuate: the brand point hardly shifts at all overnight, so you don’t have to readjust it as often. The integrated baffles and high-quality mirror coating maintain high contrast.

With the 1624 mm brand lens, you can photograph galaxies and compact nebulae at a serious magnification; the Losmandy swallowtail requires an EQ6-class mount.

Included

  • Ritchey-Chrétien optics 203/1624 with hyperbolic quartz mirrors

Featured accessories

The Omegon Pro UHC 2-inch filter (89 euros) brings out emission nebulae, and the Omegon Powerbank 10k 12V (39.90 euros) keeps the entire setup powered for a night.

For whom yes, for whom no

Pros: advanced astrophotographers who want the 8-inch RC formula for the sharpest price. Cons: those who want carbon stability and tilt correction on this optics; that is precisely what the carbon version adds. Are you hesitating between the models? The Choice assistant helpt. More Omegon is on the brand page.
