Omegon Pro OM8 Ball Head (3 kg): 310 grams for on the go
The OM8 is the lightest ball head in the Pro series: approximately 310 grams with a load capacity of 3 kg. This makes it intended for small to medium-sized cameras when traveling, during hikes, or on a small tripod.
Despite its size, it has all the functions of a full-fledged ball head: an Arca Swiss quick-release plate, a panoramic scale, two spirit levels, and continuously adjustable friction.
Features
- Load capacity 3 kg, own weight approx. 310 g
- Arca Swiss quick release plate
- Panorama scale and two spirit levels
- Steplessly adjustable friction
Compatibility
For an astro tracker with a telephoto lens, 3 kg is often too little; opt for the OM10 or OM12 in that case. A ball head moves freely in all directions and locks with a single knob: fast, but you adjust all axes simultaneously. A three-way head has its own lever per axis, which is slower but more precise if you want to adjust one direction without disturbing the rest.
