Het OM8 is het lichtste balhoofd in de Pro-serie: circa 310 gram bij een draagvermogen van 3 kg. Daarmee is het bedoeld voor kleine tot middelgrote camera’s op reis, tijdens wandelingen of op een klein statief.

Compatibility

For an astro tracker with a telephoto lens, 3 kg is often too little; opt for the OM10 or OM12 in that case. A ball head moves freely in all directions and locks with a single knob: fast, but you adjust all axes simultaneously. A three-way head has its own lever per axis, which is slower but more precise if you want to adjust one direction without disturbing the rest.
