One telescope for the sun during the day and the stars at night

The Lunt LS60MT B600 is developed for demanding solar observation in H-alpha. Thanks to the unobstructed free 60 mm etalon aperture, the telescope utilizes its full resolving power: prominences, filaments, active regions, and fine structures in the chromosphere appear with clear contrast. And when the sun is down, you can convert it into a 70 mm ED refractor in just a few steps for the Moon, planets, and bright deep-sky objects.

Modular design: H-alpha module out, night telescope over

What makes the LS60MT special is its modular design. The H-alpha etalon module can be easily removed from the tube, leaving a 2-element ED refractor with FPL-51 glass, 70mm aperture, and 420mm focal length (f/6). This makes it one of the few solar telescopes that can be used around the clock, even for night photography with the T2 camera connection.

Pressure-Tuner: wear-resistant tuning across the entire image

The Pressure-Tuner precisely tunes the internal etalon through subtle pressure regulation in an air chamber. This shifts the refractive index exactly over the H-alpha line, resulting in a homogeneous image from edge to edge. The system experiences no wear and operates reliably at any altitude and temperature.

B600-blockfilter: ready for visual and planet camera

The integrated B600 block filter (6mm clear aperture) is housed in a zenith mirror with a 1.25-inch eyepiece holder and T2 connection. This is more than sufficient for visual observation and photography with smaller sensors, such as planetary cameras. If you work with a large camera sensor, the B1200 block filter is the logical upgrade; you will find it below as an accessory.

Supplied complete

The LS60MT comes with a 2-inch rack-and-pinion focuser with a 1:10 fine adjustment, solar finder, tube rings with tripod mount, and a sturdy carrying case. With a tube weight of 3.8 kg, it fits on a photo tripod with a video head or a light astronomical mount.

An H-alpha solar telescope is safe for solar observation due to its closed filter system. Check the etalon and blocking filter for damage before each use. Never look at the sun through an ordinary telescope, binoculars, or finder without a certified solar filter on the objective end.
