The LS60MT for those who also want to photograph the sun
The Lunt LS60MT B1200 is the photographic implementation of the modular LS60MT. Optically identical to the B600 version, with the same 60 mm etalon aperture and Pressure Tuner, but with the B1200 blocking filter that offers 12 mm of free aperture. This allows you to capture the entire solar disk without vignetting, even with larger camera sensors.
B1200-blockfilter: space for large sensors
The blocking filter determines how much of the field of view reaches the eyepiece or camera unobstructed. With a 12 mm clear aperture compared to 6 mm on the B600, the B1200 provides significantly more margin: a brighter edge area for visual observation and a fully illuminated sensor for photography. The zenith mirror has a 1.25-inch eyepiece holder and a T2 connection for your camera.
Pressure-Tuner and precise focusing
The internal etalon with a bandwidth less than 0.7 Angstrom is tuned with the Pressure-Tuner: pressure control that shifts the transmission exactly over the H-alpha line, uniformly from edge to edge and without wear. The 2-inch rack-and-pinion focuser with 1:10 fine adjustment also holds heavier cameras stable in focus.
Modular and delivered complete
Remove the helical focuser from the tube, and the LS60MT transforms into a 70mm f/6 ED refractor with FPL-51 glass for moon, planets, and bright deep-sky objects. Tube rings, a handle, extension tubes, and a carrying case are included as standard; with a tube weight of 3.8 kg, this is a telescope that travels easily.

An H-alpha solar telescope is safe for solar observation due to its closed filter system. Check the etalon and blocking filter for damage before each use. Never look at the sun through an ordinary telescope, binoculars, or finder without a certified solar filter on the objective end.
