Celestron Advanced VX Mount: the entry-level for serious astrophotography
The Celestron Advanced VX is a German equatorial GoTo mount with a payload capacity of 13.6 kg (30 lb). It is the entry-level model among serious astrophotography mounts: stable enough for long exposures, compact enough to take to a dark-sky location.
The mount tracks the rotation of the sky on one axis, exactly what you need to keep stars pin-point during long exposures.

Made for astrophotography
Permanently Programmable Periodic Error Correction (PPEC) smooths out minor deviations in the worm gear, and via the autoguider port, you connect a guiding system for exposures of many minutes. The mount also photographs past the meridian without having to flip immediately.

GoTo with 40,000 objects
The NexStar+ hand controller contains a database of over 40,000 objects. After alignment, the mount automatically slews the telescope to any desired target and keeps it in view.

Aligning without the North Star
With All-Star Polar Alignment, you precisely adjust the polar axis to any bright star. Handy on a balcony or observing site where the North Star disappears behind a building.

Sturdy yet movable
The tripod has 2-inch diameter steel legs for a low-vibration base. The mount accommodates optics with a CG-5 (Vixen-style) dovetail and is easy to lift and load into a car in separate parts.
Included
- Advanced VX equatorial GoTo mount
- NexStar+ hand controller
- Tripod with 2-inch steel legs
- Counterweight
Featured accessories
The Advanced VX does not have an internal battery: a PowerTank is practically the first purchase for use on location. Anyone who wants to automate alignment and guiding connects the StarSense Autoguider V2 to the AUX port.
For whom yes and for whom no
- ✓ Beginner astrophotographers with a refractor, Newtonian, or Schmidt-Cassegrain up to approx. 10 kg optical weight
- ✓ Visual observers who want to automatically find and track objects
- ✗ Anyone looking exclusively visually with a lightweight telescope: an altazimuth GoTo mount is then easier to use
- ✗ Heavy optics over 10 kg for photography: for astrophotography, count on approximately two-thirds of the maximum load capacity
