The Bresser Messier 90/1250 is the smallest Maksutov in the line. The complete setup weighs very little and the short tube fits in a backpack. Yet, with a 1250 mm focal length, you can view the Moon, Saturn, and Jupiter at serious magnification, and during the day, you can also observe nature using the star diagonal.

Maksutov optics: high contrast, no maintenance

The Maksutov design folds a 1250 mm focal length into a short, closed tube. The meniscus lens corrects the mirror almost completely: no chromatic aberrations and a small central obstruction, hence high contrast. The 90 mm aperture gives 48x with the included 26 mm eyepiece; consider approximately 180x as the maximum (f/13.9). Collimation is rarely needed, the optics are virtually maintenance-free. Allow 30 to 45 minutes of cool-down time: the closed tube must reach outdoor temperature for the sharpest image.

EQ-3 mounting with slow motion

The EQ-3 mount tracks objects after a one-twist alignment. The smartphone adapter captures your observations.
