The Bresser Messier 90/1250 Maksutov OTA is the most compact standalone optical tube in the range. The 90 mm meniscus optics fold a 1250 mm focal length into a travel-sized tube: perfect for the Moon, planets, and nature observation on any mount with a Vixen-style clamp, or as a lightweight travel scope alongside your large telescope.
Maintenance-free Maksutov optics
The closed Maksutov design provides high contrast with no color aberrations and almost never requires collimation. With the 26 mm eyepiece, you view at 48x; plan for about 180x as the maximum (f/13.9). Allow for 30 to 45 minutes of cool-down time for the sharpest image.
Which mount fits this?
This lightweight tube has modest requirements: any mount with a Vixen clamp will do, from the Bresser EXOS-1/EQ-4 mount with tripod (379 euros) to a sturdy altazimuth travel mount. It is also usable as a piggyback tube on a larger telescope.
