The Bresser Messier 203/1200 Hexafoc EXOS-2 is the universal 8-inch in the Messier line. With f/6, it sits right between deep-sky and planetary work: nebulae show structure and Jupiter appears steady at high magnification.

8-inch optics with Hexafoc

The 203 mm parabolic mirror captures more than 800 times as much light as the naked eye. With a focal length of 1218 mm (f/6), the included 26 mm Super Plössl eyepiece provides a magnification of 47x; consider approximately 406x as the maximum. The 2.5-inch Hexafoc focuser can support heavy 2-inch eyepieces and camera equipment without sagging.

The EXOS-2 mount

The EXOS-2 is a German equatorial mount of the EQ-5 class with a payload capacity of up to 13 kg. With the polar finder scope, you can align quickly, and with the slow-motion cables, you can track objects smoothly. If you want automatic tracking later, the mount can be expanded with a motor set or the complete StarTracker GoTo system.
