Sky-Watcher EQ-AL55i Pro SynScan GoTo WiFi: The travel mount for every latitude

The EQ-AL55i Pro is built for mobile astrophotographers and observers. The mount carries up to 10 kg at a total system weight of just 14.8 kg, including the tripod and counterweights. The counterweight bar is adjustable in two positions, allowing the mount to function at all latitudes from 0 to 90 degrees: just as useful in the Netherlands as under a southern night sky.

Operation is wireless via the built-in WLAN module and the free SynScan Pro app for iOS and Android, with a database of 42,900 objects. A physical SynScan hand controller can be optionally connected. The illuminated polar scope makes polar alignment quick and reliable, even when traveling.

Ready for photography on the go

With a USB connection, ST-4 autoguider port, and SNAP port for camera control, the EQ-AL55i is set up for astrophotography with a light APO or telephoto lens. The 44mm steel tripod legs give the lightweight mount a surprisingly stable base.

The Sky-Watcher 200mm tripod extension fits the EQ-AL55i and gives longer tubes extra clearance. Those who want physical buttons can connect the optional SynScan GoTo Handcontroller via cable.

For traveling astrophotographers and observers with a lightweight refractor or camera setup looking for a full-featured GoTo mount under 15 kg. Not for those running a heavy, fixed setup at home; the HEQ5 Pro and EQ6-R Pro are better choices for that.
