Sky-Watcher AZ-EQ5 GT SynScan GoTo: Two Mounts in One

The AZ-EQ5 GT can be used as an equatorial mount for astrophotography and as an azimuthal mount for quick visual work. In EQ mode, you can accurately track objects for long exposures with autoguiding. In AZ mode, you can skip polar alignment and start observing within minutes, with the option of using a second telescope in place of the counterweights.

The belt drive and microstep stepper motors ensure smooth, quiet movement. Thanks to the dual encoders (Freedom Find), you can move the telescope by hand without losing alignment: the mount always knows where it is. The SynScan hand controller offers 42,900 objects.

Stable on steel legs

The tripod with 51 mm legs supports the setup with minimal vibration. With a load capacity of 15 kg, there is room for medium-sized refractors, Newtonians, and catadioptric systems, even with a camera and guidescope.
