The favorite of planetary observers: the C9.25 on AVX
The Celestron SC 235/2350 Advanced VX Mount the beloved C9.25 optics on a go-to equatorial GoTo camera ready for photography. The 235 mm Schmidt-Cassegrain captures 1127 times more light than the naked eye and is renowned among planetary observers for its exceptionally smooth, sharp image. With a 2350 mm focal length, this is the class in which Jupiter and Saturn reveal their finest details.

Why the 9.25 is so popular
The C9.25 has a slightly longer primary focal length than its siblings, which makes the optical design extra forgiving and the image remarkably smooth. On paper, it is useful up to about 470x; the Dutch atmosphere usually limits planetary work around 300x, and that is exactly where this lens excels. The StarBright XLT coating keeps light transmission at maximum.

The Advanced VX: Built for Photography
The Advanced VX is a German equatorial GoTo mount with 13.6 kg of carrying capacity, the NexStar+ hand controller with over 40,000 objects, All-Star Polar Alignment for polar alignment without visibility to the Pole Star, periodic error correction (PPEC), and an autoguider port. The mount operates on 12V; a power tank is the logical addition. For planetary photography with a fast camera, this is a proven duo.

For whom yes, for whom no
On the other hand, the serious planet and moon observer who also wants to see globular clusters and planetary nebulae at their best, with ample photographic space to work with. Not: those who want to photograph large nebula fields; choose the Newton 150/750 or an RASA with the same mount for that purpose.
