ZWO ASI 174MM Mono: the global shutter specialist for the sun and the moon

The ASI174MM combines the large Sony IMX174 sensor with USB 3.0 speed: up to 128 images per second at full resolution. With this, it has been a favorite camera for solar and lunar photography for years, where large sensor areas and high framerates make the difference.

An important detail that makes the sensor special: the IMX174 has a global shutter. All pixels are read out simultaneously, without the distortion that a rolling shutter can cause with rapidly changing images. This is an advantage especially for solar photography with fast turbulence.

Large field, large pixels

With 1936 x 1216 pixels at 5.86 micrometers, the sensor covers a large field of view. This allows you to capture the entire solar disk or a significant portion of the lunar disk in a single shot, without mosaic.

The large pixels fit well with telescopes with longer focal lengths and capture a lot of signal per pixel, which makes short exposures possible.

Speed for lucky imaging

With 128 fps via USB 3.0, you can collect tens of thousands of frames in minutes. Stacking software selects the sharpest moments from among the quiet skies: the recipe for razor-sharp sun and moon shots.
