Eight-inch opening: the deep-sky machine among the Zoomions

The Zoomion 200 mm EQ (Genesis 200 EQ) with its 203 mm aperture captures over 800 times more light than the naked eye. This makes details visible that remain hidden in smaller telescopes: the Great Red Spot on Jupiter, the Cassini Division in Saturn's rings, and the structure of nebulae such as M42 in Orion.

The EQ-4 mount of the Genesis 200 EQ

Stable EQ-4 mount

The EQ-4 mount forms a solid base and makes manual tracking along the celestial axis simple: after aligning on Polaris, you can smoothly move objects through the field of view with a single axis. The construction is sturdy enough for higher magnifications and can later be expanded with an optional tracking motor.

The supplied Plössl eyepieces and finder of the Genesis 200 EQ

Fast f/3.9 system with quality eyepieces

The 800mm focal length and fast f/3.9 system provide a bright, wide field of view, ideal for large nebulae and open star clusters. The three Plössl eyepieces (25mm, 12mm, and 6.5mm) provide 32x to over 120x magnification, the 6x30 optical finder quickly locates objects, and the moon filter keeps the full moon calm. A realistic magnification is up to about 400x on the clearest nights.

The Genesis 200 EQ fully set up on the aluminum tripod

Built to last for years

With a total weight of 27.5 kg and a stable aluminum tripod, the Genesis 200 EQ is a full-fledged telescope that will last you for years. Keep this weight in mind when purchasing: this is a telescope for a fixed spot in the garden or for short distances, not for those who want to travel frequently.

Featured accessories

With the Omegon Smartphone Adapter 25 to 48 mm (14.90 euros) you take your first Moon photo through the eyepiece. The bright Moon requires short shutter speeds, so the lack of automatic tracking doesn't play a role there.

For whom yes, for whom no

Suitable for: Beginners and advanced users who want maximum aperture for deep-sky observation and the ability to learn to track along the Earth's axis. Not suitable for: Those who want to observe in a lightweight and mobile setup; an 8-inch Dobsonian offers the same aperture with simpler setup and less weight.
