Omegon drive motor for EQ-2 and EQ-3 mount: your mount follows the stars by itself

An equatorial mount without a motor requires manual correction every few seconds: the Earth rotates and the object drifts out of view. This tracking motor takes over that task. It drives the RA axis at sidereal speed, keeping the object in the eyepiece.

Especially at higher magnifications, that's the difference between relaxed viewing and constant adjustment, and it makes simple moon photography with longer sequences possible.

Corrections without touching the telescope

The four-button hand controller offers 2x and 8x correction speeds plus a pause function. Small deviations can be corrected without touching the tube, thus without image vibration.

North and south

The hemisphere switch reverses the direction of rotation for use in the Southern Hemisphere, should the telescope travel there.

Power from batteries

The motor runs on six D-batteries, making it completely self-sufficient in the field: no power tank or cables to a power source needed.
