Sky-Watcher Star Discovery WiFi GoTo: Automatic searching, manual free movement
The Star Discovery is an azimuthal GoTo mount that takes the hassle out of searching. You connect your phone to the built-in WiFi, open the SynScan app, and tap an object: the mount quietly and precisely rotates to it and keeps it in view. The database contains 10,000 objects, with alignment on two stars or the brightest star.
Thanks to Freedom-Find dual encoders, you can also manually turn the telescope without the GoTo system losing its way. This feels natural and saves time when switching between objects. The steel tripod stably supports the mount; the complete setup weighs 6.5 kg and can carry optics up to 5 kg.
