Sky-Watcher AZ5 Deluxe with tripod: point, clamp, view
The AZ5 Deluxe is an alt-azimuth mount that you can use for both stargazing and landscape and nature observation. It carries telescopes up to 5 kg and points from near the horizon to the zenith. The slip clutch allows you to quickly rough-aim the tube; then you can make precise adjustments on both axes using the worm gear fine adjustment via the slow-motion cables.

The Vixen-style saddle accepts virtually any lightweight refractor, Maksutov, or spotting scope with a dovetail. The aluminum tripod is adjustable from 86.5 to 158 cm, allowing you to observe comfortably while standing or sitting. With no motors or electronics, there is nothing that can run out of power or break: set it down and start viewing.
Included
- AZ5 Deluxe mount (2.3 kg) with Vixen-style saddle
- Slow-motion cables for both axes
- Aluminum tripod (86.5 to 158 cm)
Featured accessories
If you want maximum rigidity, replace the aluminum tripod with the Sky-Watcher AZ5 1.75-inch stainless steel tripod.
For whom yes, for whom no
Good for: visual observers with a lightweight refractor or Maksutov who want a simple, quiet mount without power. Not for: those who want automatic tracking or astrophotography; choose the AZ-GTi or an equatorial mount instead.
