Omegon Pro Owl-tail bracket 323 mm for 6 inch RC: stable connection for a 6 inch RC

This batwing bracket attaches a 6-inch RC telescope to the mount. The 323 mm (12.6 in) red anodized aluminum rod comes with two curved OTA mounting blocks.

Support over a large area

The two aluminum blocks have a radius that matches exactly the tube. This way, the tube rests on a large surface instead of on two narrow points, which counteracts bending.

Why stability matters here

An RC telescope is almost always used for astrophotography at long focal lengths. With that magnification, the slightest flexing immediately translates into distorted stars. A firm connection between the tube and the mount is then not a detail.
