Omegon Pro Neptune Fork Mount for Large Binoculars: the fork mount for large binoculars
The Pro Neptune is the mount we recommend with every Brightsky. A large binoculars on a photo tripod head is a compromise: too little load capacity, no free movement to the zenith, vibrations with every touch. The Neptune solves that with a true fork that carries the binoculars at its center of gravity.
This version is the bare mount. You use it on an existing tripod with a 3/8-inch connection, for example the Omegon Pro Carbon 40 mm or a stainless steel telescope tripod.

Construction
Aluminum fork on Teflon bearings in both axes, load capacity 9 kg with a dead weight of 4.25 kg. The altitude axis ranges from 30 degrees below the horizon to 90 degrees straight up, with locking screws and graduations on both axes.
The viewer clamps with a 150 x 55 mm sandwich dovetail and a 1/4 inch screw. At the bottom is a 3/8 inch tripod connection. All Brightsky models, the Argus 25x100 and the Nightstar 100 mm fit on it.

In practice
The Teflon bearings provide a movement that can be guided with a finger and stays in place where you let go. For observing towards the zenith, a center column or a tall tripod is nice, otherwise the tripod legs get in the way; the set with center column and carbon tripod solves that.

Which tripod
At least a tripod with a 3/8-inch connection and a load capacity of 15 kg. The Omegon Pro Carbon 40 mm holds 50 kg and extends up to 1.90 m. An aluminum photo tripod with thin legs bounces and makes the mount useless.
