Omegon Pro Pedestal for Mounts and Binoculars: a pedestal instead of a tripod
The Omegon Pro Pillar provides a stable, vibration-free base for a mount or large binoculars. The fixed central column with widely spread legs is more rigid than a standard tripod, allowing the image to stabilize faster.
Despite the construction, the pillar remains portable: the legs fold in and you can take it from the garden to a dark location outside the city.

Why a column is more stable
With a tripod, the legs act as levers that can bend. A column brings the load down through one rigid central column, significantly reducing torsion and ringing.

Leveling
The leveling system sets the column precisely horizontally, even on uneven terrain. This is the prerequisite for a good pole setup: if the base is uneven, every subsequent alignment will work against you.

Material
Anodized aluminum and stainless steel provide rigidity without the weight of a cast iron column, keeping the setup mobile.
